His jolly personality always brightens our mood. My grandfather acts like the root which binds our family all together. My grandfather has multiple interests. He is very fond of gardening. Our backyard is filled with shrubs and herbs of all kinds. He is a great home cook. Often I watch him pick tomatoes from the garden and create innovative dishes for me.


He says cooking is therapeutic. Being a retired headmaster of the Public School, books have been his pride possession. I feel lucky to be able to live with my grandparents. Whenever I got scolded by my mom or dad, my grandfather always comes to my rescue. We share a special bond. I always share my day to day stories with him. Every weekend, we sit together and watch a horror movie. Once in a while, he lets me cook some dishes for him. My grandmother died last year. It has made my grandfather very sad. He is now retired.


He was the editor of a famous English magazine. His knowledge is very vast. Reading is his hobby. He has his own big library. He can be found busy reading. My grandfather is fond of sweets. My mother often prepares sweets for him. He has a special liking for milk sweets. He is about seventy years old. But he is very active and alert. He tells very fine jokes and anecdotes.
